Environment-friendly sleep comfort
Natural latex mattresses undoubtedly are the most ecologically friendly sleeping solution currently found on the market. Their natural resources are gained with the greatest respect for our planet and benefit your body in many ways. In our own facility, we also produce in the most sustainable way possible.
6 insights in respectful latex extraction
- Latex is often called the ‘white gold’. It’s a liquid naturally found in the rubber tree, that neutralises up to 90 million tonnes of CO2 per year.
- Rubber trees have an inexhaustible source of natural raw material and can produce up to 25 years.
- Artilat latex does not contain harmful substances and is certified according the most stringent Oekotex Class 1 norms.
- Our Mayan Green products all carry the FSC label. All natural latex used comes from sustainably managed plantations, with respect for the environment and workers. The range is part of part of Act for Home Textiles, the sustainability program of Love Home Fabrics.
- In these plantations for every retired tree, a new sapling is planted.
- FSC also stands for transparency: the origin of every Artilat mattress core, topper and pillow can be traced back to its tree, through control organisations like Rainforest Alliance.
4 aspects of sustainable latex foam production
- We entirely rely on the natural advantages of latex for our products. No chemicals are needed anywhere along the production line.
- Producing our latex foam happens in energy-saving machinery.
- All water used is part of a closed loop water circuit. Every drop is recycled in our own water purification plant and we do not use drinking water for industrial purposes.
- Latex waste is recycled internally and externally and reused in new products.
